Hi I want to get my car running to it's best possible with the mods I have done. Can any one advise me of the next best step. Please note the car as only done 108,000kms and I have had it since 16,000kms and as been services every 5-7,000kms all ways on Magnatec.
I have a VY V6 with 2 1/2 cat back with pacemaker extractor and a k&n panel filter, cold air intake, mace lower plenum spacer 24mm & a mace 70mm throttle body. What are my options in terms of computer up grades. I realise the VY's can't be 'chipped' is the ECU from a VT compatible and if so could I use this with a memcal upgrade . If they are not compatible do I need a dyno tune or would a preset ECU work just as good?
DO I NEED THE ECU UPDATED OR IS THE STANDARD ONE GOOD ENOUGH?
DOES THE STANDARD ECU TRY TO REVERT TO HOLDENS SETTING or WILL IT HANDEL THE MODS? AS THE CAR RUNS GOOD THEN THE NEXT DAY FEELS NOT AS GOOD.
What can be controlled by reflashing the ECU ie, revs, gear change fuel & air?
The car is going good except for gear changes, I don't want to go to KT roller rocker.
All help appreciated
Cheers Col

ChipTorque can tune your car with the computer in it, It'd be absolutely pointless to swap the stocker out for something that will do the same job. It's very hard for people to recommend tuners when you don't have your location set.
Get a shift kit and better diff???
yeah im finding it quite difficult to find a VY tuner aswell.. Not too many people do VY's except chipTorque as loads of people have said![]()
Dick would be able to tune it for you he is in south sydney area.
I can recommend a tuner in drysdale (geelong). Did a tune for a VESS the other day, so I'd assume he can do VY's as well.
nathans VY Calais - 'Calais 2.0' | VT Equipe | VS Calais **SOLD!**
i had a chip torque mail order in my vx, it lost power with it..
Get a custom tune on a dyno mate altho you prob won't gain heaps til you take on more mods. The stock ecu is more than capable, it all depends on the tuner.
