thanks, i didnt really think it would hurt the resale

im just curious as to what kits would fit the engine? or would i have to make my own? i wouldnt mind doing it, i think it wiuld be quite a good learning opportunity, maybe people here could steer my in the right direction as to what gear i would need etc

Get a Garret gt35/40 take your car to a performance place that makes manifolds get that done and the dump pipe connect your oil/water lines etc cooler and piping then go get a tune basic as I can say it lol

I'd be looking at a 500x300 intercooler, gt35/40 turbo (as mentioned), 50lb injectors, in tank high flow fuel pump.

Run about 8psi - that should get you easily up to the 300kw mark. You might be able to run more boost on them, but the alloytecs are a NA motor (fairly high comp) so unless you lower the compression you're asking for all sorts of trouble.

8psi should be fine on a 35/40, a 35/40 is an XR6 turbo so it'll spool up pretty quick too. I have no idea what a HX-40 is so you better put a link up.
As for the injectors I'd have no idea. Easiest thing would be to compare them to a normal alloytec injector and see if they're the same.

HX40 i havent brought the car but there should be some documentation on it somewhere, any idea on prices for these turbos? i was trying to figure out a price for this see what i can afford

also what are the advantages/diadvantages of lowering compression in alloytec engines? and what are the risks?

you might even be able to locate someone who is very interested in progressing thier business into SIDI kits who will do you a discount, it has happened in the past.

Really? What are the chances if that happening? If anything i would have thought it was going to be really expensive just for the fact no one is doing it

"Developed for 7 to 10 litre engines operating in the medium/light heavy automotive sector this Holset turbocharger has many of the features found in the Holset heavy-duty range of products."

It's a truck turbo designed for 7-10L motors. Are you joking about using this on a 3.6L commodore???

Higher comp = better off boost drivability, less capability for high boost high end power

Lower comp = more sluggish off boost response, more capability for more power up top with more boost.

My bad someone mentioned it to me and I was in a rush an posted the first link, no chance that is the correct one, am I right in saying all I really need is a turbo, intercooler oil lines piping etc and a boost controller? Plus a tune and upgrade stuff like fuel pump, injectors probably pistons and rods to?

Ideally yes you're right, but I'd just run 8psi with stock rods and pistons and see how that goes.

No need for an intercooler? I didn't think it was going to be that easy, I suppose I'm not really running it with massive amounts of boost

What do you think the safe limit I could take it to before having to upgrade the internals?
