Default VX S2 L67 how much boost can you safely run?

Hi guys, first of all hi from Christchurch NZ as per the thread title i have a VX S2 Calais L67 with a modular hub and 10psi pulley installed from mace and a complete cat converter removal replaced with strait through tubes on each side apart from that this is the only mods i have done to it, the motor is standard otherwise, i am wondering how high boost i can run before i risk serious engine failure, and are these things prone to lunching them selves at hight boost levels i always run at least 95 octane and service it every 6,000kms with full synthetic oil, just wondering how high i can safely go in the boost and any other suggestions to slightly improve the performance that are not too difficult to do? my old man has just brought a Merc C32 AMG and i would like to keep up with it thanks in advance.

Hi there boss, we just had a fella in this thread Help stuck at 230kw only $2700 left in budget chasing more power through higher boost through his blower. If you have a read there you'll find that you're pretty much peaking the efficiency of your supercharger, and if you go any higher all you're going to do is generate more heat and well... that's all.

I'd recommend intercooling and installing a cam. MACE engineering (a site sponsor here) can supply you with the gear you need.

I can't comment on the bigger MAF's, but I used to have a 69mm throttle body on my supercharged V6 and it didn't really do anything at all.

ive run a 12 psi pulley on mine un-i/c, made a bit more torque but judging by the amount of unburnt fuel coming out the exhaust, the ECU is pumping the fuel in to try and keep the temps down

un-tuned 10psi is generally the safe limit. if you want to run more psi then intercooling and custom tune is the way to go. there are guys running really small pulley's (19psi) with the A2A intercoolers on otherwise stock bottom ends. running a decent cold air intake helps as well. plenty yet that can be done. a cam swap would help, speak to Steve @ MACE

FIT made about 440rwhp on a stock L67 with the M90 removed and a turbo kit fitted @ 20psi

Forced Induction Technologies - Australia's V6 Supercharged Specialists

i'd take anything Tony says with a grain of salt though

This might just be gossip.. but I heard FIT went through a few engines perfecting their tune.

who knows. i don't think 20psi is excessive, the trick seems to be a good fuel system and a good tune. don't get to greedy with timing. hell there is a guy on Street Coms forum who runs 19psi on a stock bottom end VR V6 and only blew the head gaskets when it boost spiked to 21psi.

But like i said before, take anything for FIT with a grain of salt
