I'm after a tad more poke out of my VR with the Buick V6 motor.
It's got the usual bolt ons: headers, CAI, removed bellmouth, greenfoam tune.
I'm thinking of getting my factory cam regrinded, obviously will only be a mild cam, it's to remain suitable for daily use. I hear crow cams are nothing to write home about, Wade are a good choice, how about Waggott cams?
I'd like to see the car end up with a bit more poke around the street (ie: more torque, quicker 0-60 times) so gains in the low-mid range revs. The car may see the 1/4 one day as well.
I have heard that some cams will get you a faster 1/4 mile time, but a slower 0-100km time? Is that true?
Wade have a couple of good cams to suit. For what you're after you'll need to factor in a higher stall converter and diff gears. The off the shelf crow grinds are fine in conjunction with a set of higher ratio rockers IMHO
In regards to 1/4 mile times, depending on the cam selected and how the car is set up (stall converter diff ratio) it would be the case.

back in the day i had a wade 992a, was pretty flat down low, sounded cool, was terrible on fuel though for a v6... imo maybe just leave it alone...
spent a fortune building a tough v6, while it wasnt fun it was worth what it cost
It is my belief that if you want power from a buick six pot you shouldn't bother with anything short of boost. Garrett off a XR6T is a nice size and readily available.

turbo is the best bang for buck mod i reckon .still drive like stock use gas like stock but have more than 2 times the power LOL
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
I thought turbocharging the car would cause it to use more fuel? Or is that only when one plays with injectors, A/F ratios and the ECU itself?
I've been toying around with the idea of getting an SC14 charger, is it a decent choice or am i better off going turbo?
And if i go for boost, then changing the cam would be pointless?
boost or bin. They are your only options for a faster V6.

If boost is a genuine option then, as others have mentioned, will represent the best value for money in regards to performance and would be the way to go, if your budget stretches that far.
