    Default Buick 3800 questions

    Ok first off guys i had my VN on a chassis dyno and it made 90rwkw's I have a printout which shows my afr's so I can send to greenfoam once he posts up another memcal on ebay.

    Now we did back to back runs probably like 12 pulls, ranging from 92-86
    With one in the 112.
    vs otr Airbox with k&n air filter 90kw plugs where pretty black
    Vs otr Airbox with k&n and new plugs 92
    Without air box ran real rich 86-88 with the fan off then on

    Now the car has a stage 3 crow cam with rebuilt motor, bigger t/b,vt coil pack,hi tec extractors...etc read my thread.

    Now question the heads where just done about 2000k's ago but I wanna rip them back off and shave them bump the comp up abit, what areas to clean up the heads? Also I was thinking the inlet aswell? And also the intake runners. What's the area to work on?

    Anyone mucked around as Im going to get my old man to do it but I just want some info about these engines,

    Now the big question can I put higher ratio rockers with the cam? Instead of pulling the whole engine out and doing a cam change again which will then become a major project lol and car coming off the road
    .
    I heard of people putting shims for the rockers and spring change?


    Also before I get the tune who knows how well the standard injectors obviously they are pumping enough fuel but is it a worthwhile upgrade?

    And yes I have searched the forums but I haven't got straight answer more like maybe yes and maybe no and this thread will hopefully answer them straight up

    Leave it standard or your wasting bulk cash for hardly any gain.

    Wooow I suppose you just seen the Buick thread and presumed It was another slapper. Its anything but standard and I'm proud to have people compliment the car and think it's a 5l only to break their feelings and say it's only a 6.


    Btw stock computer was too lean and the crow chip was too rich so I'm getting that sorted with a adjustable fuel pressure reg and going to turn the pressure down so can lean it out abit.

    I can't waste more then what I already have spent on it. Once I run a 14 I'll move back onto my cortinas untill the 14 I'll do whatever I need to.

    I already spent enough I'm not worried about a couple grand now lol considering I have done everything.
