Default 3.0 SIDI SS induction issues

    Hello,

    Need so assistance/advice

I have just installed a new SIDI ss inductions growler kit.

    My issues are

    1. The engine light is on all the time (From what i have seen on the net, its because the car is not use to the extra airflow)

    2. There is an extra air/flow sensor in the stock air box that the ss inductions kit did not allow for.

Anyone else having the same problems?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

If you mean the MAF sensor hanging out the side of the stock airbox, then that's your problem. You need it. You need to use some plastic piping to house it in and add it to the SSI set up.

As snips said, you need your MAF, thats why its throwing the engine light, id imagine it wouldnt be running that great either

    Thanks for the advice,

I didnt know if this second sensor was apart of the MAF system.

Do you think i could do plumbing it anywhere?

***** Thanks for the heads up, wont happen again.

So would you suggest drill a hole in the SS airbox and use a rubber tube to link?

I'd fit the sensor exactly how BigJim has in this thread Ve sv6 intake ?
he's using the VCM airbox, but the concept is the same. As you can see from the photo, he's made a custom housing for the MAF sensor and has it mounted directly to the outside of the air box. No drilling of the air box.

    Thanks for the link,

Thank sensor already has a housing. There is a second one that comes with the SIDI models.

Seems to be located on the side of the airbox lid.

So the engine light has turned off??? Even know that second sensor is just sitting in the airbox. Do you think I should still worry about it?
