ideas for engine replacement for 1996 acclaim series 2

abit of background in what i am wishing to do with my VS project car: manual conversion, engine replacment? work on the engine ( so as to get further power and performance without turbo ect), strip inteior completly, roll cage, 2 racing seats, strut braces, coil overs, extractors, HSV brakes....anything esle i should do????

I am debating weather or not i should replace my current engine with the same type or and ideas for a performance engine that is suitable for my acclaim??? and any ideas on what i should do to get further performance out of my VS and any further ideas on what i could do to make it better would be helpful?

Easiest and cheapest option is a factory supercharged V6. Bolts straight in only minor changes to the wiring

yea i gonna try to keep it P plater legal for awhile then i would like to put in a supercharged V6 so what engine should i put in???

and as for what im going to do with it once its done im gonna take it to eastern creek and put it through its paces and well try and beat my mates in there cars haha

A stock standard one. Your only choice really .

As in drag racing??? Then my recommendation for a track car would be LS1. Go check out sav's thread - it pretty much covers it all and is a real heads up on what works and what doesn't.

Hang on so you want P-plate legal but your planning on things like: Engine work, roll cages, stripped interior, coilovers, exhaust system etc. You better have a read of the regulations before you go pulling to much apart

the stripped interior will get you defected real quick... my suggestion would just be build it purely as a track car or if its your daily then dont bother touching it

Nothing wrong with a quick daily, if you don't mind spending money on it. Just don't be a dick on your P plates and avoid undue attention

you do live in townsville lol... if your anywhere near a decent sized city your gonna get breath tested a fair bit and they'll notice it real quick

It was in Perth mate, had it stripped for near on a year, and got pulled over a few times in that period I've only recently moved up to QLD. Had no headliner in mine either

this is my dream to do for my car im gonna be working on a cattle station for 10 out of 12 months of the year so its giving me something to save my wages for instead of drinking them away, so i thought id but money into my first car, atm it needs heaps of work but its my project car and i wanna prove my mates wrong who give me shit about it being a "####ing bommodore" so yea. it will take time as i will have 2 mounths out of 12 to work on it but it will happen
