Hey guys, I just became the proud owner of series 1 v6 vs executive! It's auto though
I also have my vr just sitting about collecting dust, with some good parts though, and I have some questions that perhaps you gents could help me with?
1. The vr has a T5 in it, will the t5 bolt up to the ecotec using the parts from the vr?
2. If so will I need a new flywheel or will that bolt up too?
3. Both the vr and the vs are IRS, will the 2 1/2in exhaust from the vr fit?
4. Last but not least, what about my lowered springs from the vr?
I did all the work on the vr myself so I can get it done just don't want to do all the work to take it all apart, then find out I need something extra, or that it won't fit in the first place
Cheers!
Lowered front springs will fit. The rears will fit providing they have the same rear suspension setup. So a live axel VR springs will go into a live axel VS, and IRS VR spring will go into an IRS VS.
VR's are a bit of a dark horse, they look the same as the VS but are massively different in so many ways. Nothing you have mentioned above is effected by this at all..
Plug and play my friend, plug and play.
only thing that I can think will be affected is the flywheel.

Thanks guys! I had a feeling I might have to get a flywheel to suit. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the ecotec has 8 bolts not 6 but I wasn't sure, I've never worked on one! To tell you the truth I'm a bit sad about taking my vr to bits, after all the memories (and smoke!) we've made together. Call me sentimental....
