Hey guys how do I get the rear balance shaft bearing out of my ecotec because I need to plug the oil feed hole
thanks
obviously you have the motor out of the car, I just removed mine in preperation for taping and pluggin it.
I just used a peice of steel bar and a hammer and worked my way around and drove it out the back of the block.
It was very stubben at first but once it started moving it came out very easily
If you are removing the balance shaft to fit a double row timing chain there are a few ways. In car: leave the shaft in and remove the front gear from it. This way the oil hole will still be restricted and function normally while also leaving sufficient clearance at the front for the double row chain gear. Just bend the retainer tabs back up a tad.
If the engine's out of the car and the shaft is going in the bin then tap and plug a grub screw from the back under the rear main seal plate or just bang a tight welch plug with some 347 loctite in there
