Default turbo chioce for buick v6 stroker

hey guys im looking at getting rid of my blower and opting for a turbo (finally)

Now, i have a fully built low comp come racing stroker. and i want to make some decent power. its capable of handling 20 to 25psi.
    i have been looking at either a t51, GT45 or T04Z.
i dont want too much lag but driveability isnt a issue its already a pig.
what do u recomend turbo wizzards ?

4.2L and 20+psi? the GT3582 aka GT3540 turbine wheel will probably choke it.. be nice and responsive with a .8 or even 1.0 A/R turbine housing though.

Best thing to do is work out the engines airflow and look at the compressor maps of those turbos (T51, GT42 or TO4Z).. talk to some Turbo reconditioners..

My 2cents - any off those will work, probably the TO4Z with a .8-1.0 A/R turbine housing. It will be laggy though.. use good tubular headers - Commotion makes very good ones "Boost Obsession" search this site.

lol i dont see how a 35/40 will choke it think about the ford theyre are 4lt running with the smaller .82 housing and making 300rwkw +

Ed Sleeper on here runs a proper 35/40 with a 1.06 rear housing and bigger front on about 4.1lt capacityand thats making 500rwhpo and running low 11's with 2 sec 60ft. that only about 14-16psi (varies a bit) its also revvingn to 6500rpm with dropping off or choking the engine not sure what the stroker goes too.

35/40 are so popular as they are very versitile turbo great response even on 3lt and good outright power. If you got the cash defenitly go ball bearing and the X version with the billet front wheel look at a bigger front housing option too

GT35r might work but if your going to the trouble of buying a new turbo you might as well pay the few hundred extra and get a decent sized one you will make more power on the same boost. I would go GT4094 for response or a GT4294 for peak power.

this car has a GT4094 on a stroked ecotec. Apparently the response is good but have not seen it in person.

considered twin turbo instead, less lag more top end power if u choose sequential twin turbo setup

The GTX is killer,I have it on my BA.The std rear housings on the Fords are 1.06 also.

Even the FG/G6E have the 1.06 but have a smaller compressor wheel.Another option is Borg Warner turbos.

Paid 1650 for my new gtx3582r.350rwkw at 16psi.Turbo is rated at 750 hp,full boost by mid 2000rpm depending on IAT temps at the time.

Give up and get a V8. Although if you feel like blowing thousands of dollars into a 6 go crazy.

What he said 500rwhp is perfect out of a 35/40 with the price that freddy here got his GTX for you can go wrong. Billet higher flowing front wheel is worth it and they are around same price as a normal one

Lol youd need to spend heaps on a v8 to make 500rwhp and considering hes already stroked a v6 your post is a waste of time

^^^^Yeah its not the best atm, shocking tbh, still running std piping configuration but just improved somewhat. The pipe to crossover gets in the way.Had to get this filter from America as its only stocked their.K&N's smalles 4" neck filter.2.75" long lol

This was why I spoke about the spooltime being dependant on IAT's.After city stop starting if you boot it their is only around 310320rwkw their. The fans also b,low hot air into the turbo.I blew the original 1 week before Gazzanats this year so this was just a quick setup to turn the tires for the weekend lol.Turn them she did, still smells like peanuts from the tire smoke.

New setup will be still as planned(Process West 2.3 kit)when I was driving it even though the other half drives it now.

These turbos are around 20% quieter than the usual 35/40,something I liked alot to add to the stealthness a little more.
