Both my radiator pipes off the block went within one day, there seems to be oil in the water but no milkshake solution in the oil. Mechanic replaced hoses and temp gage for heater as it was cracked. He reccommended pressure test to confirm if hg has blown. Just took it for drive and it hasn't used water and felt fine. Is there anything else it can be but a head gasket? This all happened a week after muffler was fixed and it was given a service.
It's fairly common on V6 commodores for the intake manifold gaskets to leak when they get old. Very common problem and 99% more likely then a blown head gasket. MACE sell alloy gaskets which are better then the factory original plastic items.
Holden recommend the use of there pallets in the cooling system that can look like there is a little bit of oil in the coolant. The transmission cooler in the passenger side tank can also leak (but also unlikely). Best bet is to fill it up, bleed it and see what happens.

2nd'ing intake manifold gaskets. Radiator gets milky under the cap, yet no coolant in the oil. If the milkyness is red then its your trans cooler in the side of the radiator that is leaking.

As said, it'll more than likely be intake gaskets. If they're gone bad enough on an L67, you will end up with boost bypassing into the cooling system, which will explain the blown hoses aswell. Only had this problem once on an L67 (done a few, but not bad enough to boost into the cooling system) and it displays head gasket like symptoms.
V6's very, very rarely blow head gaskets.
