Yes,along with 3.9's or similar if you allready havent![]()
yes yes and god dam yes i put one in my stock 5ltr went from 9.3 to 8.8 over the 1/8 mile. and just make them really come to life.and dont listen to ppl saying it will be reving high when cruising . or it wont take of to 2500rpm thats all bull shit . only really big high stall behave like that in the likes of 4000 to 5000 rpm range.with mine you barely know its there its a 3000rpm. but however it will only stall to about 2000 b4 wheels start to spin.but if from idle or slow cruising stand on it it will take revs to 2800 .which is known as hi stall flash speed. you will love it .so have fun champ.
Cheers guys bought on already got it for $395
I'm looking at getting a hi stall in the future. Is 2500 good for me too?

That dude James (ebay seller) seemed pretty good, when I was looking for mine. Not a bad price either.

Yeah, he does a decent job on the Holden LSD's. Mine is like a locker now, give it a bit of stick and it locks solid which means it's easy to steer the car with your right footI only went 3.45's with mine being a manual.
When i finally get around to rebuilding the missus tranny i will get the converter modified for a slightly higher stall and then it will need a LSD. Even now it will spin a tyre if your not careful which sucks when you want to get it moving in a hurry.

I reckon 3.7's would be the most you'd want to go with a T5 (5th being .85?) .. the 4L60e has a .7 OD, so 3.9's?
.. I have no idea what speed I'm doing at the moment with these 3.7's.. 15-20kms out at 100kms/hr.. have to get a whizzy Jaycar speedo box thing
The Hi-Stall I have was 3000rpm, but had it tweaked to 2500rpm.. we'll see soon, new motor goes in around the 21st![]()

T5 5th gear is 0.72:1 and the 4L60e is 0.70 as mentioned. The thing with the v6 manual box is that 1st gear is 3.25:1 so with 3.7's 1st gear is starting to get real short. I think with my 3.45's from a standing start till I changed gear including feathering the throttle to prevent to much wheel spin 1st gear is over in about 2 seconds (measured using a Gtech). i think that turbo VB that delco was working on gets about 15 meters out of the box before it hits the limiter in 1st and has to change gear using 3.9's (launching at 5000rpm+ with a 6500rpm limiter) on a stock buick bottom endand eats diffs and gear boxes on a regular basis.
My preference is a T56 box with 4.11 gears
In that respect the auto's are much easier on the gear and to drive but i like a challenge![]()

would you put a servo and shift kit with a 2500 stall converter?
