Hey all just a quick question how far can i shave my heads on my vs ecotec before the pistons hit the valves ill be running 1.98 rockers aswell
tuning done by THE1 A+++++ tuner
And powering it by MACE
Build it to handle the MANG
probably something your gonna have to measure once the rockers are done...
but thinking sweet FA, 1.98 is a massive ratio for a valve to extend into the chamber
With a stock cam the changes of the valves hitting anything is about 0
Body by Holden, Soul by Brock

As said... best bet is to bolt the heads and valve train down without gaskets and do a PTV measurement with plasticine. I machined up a billet of ally to act as a lifter that is a full pump up, plus 20 thou just to emulate a worse case situation.
I did this when i built my engine and was able to remove a fair bit, even with flat pistons too. but i also did some flycuts.
beware though.... Too much off the heads will mean that the faces on the LIM will have to be machined very thin.
... oh this is all with quite a 'big' cam and 1.8 RR too. So its reasonably extreme
Hit me up with some reputation points if i've helped you out! (Star in the bottom left!) Cheers!
