    Default Identifying 3.8 V6 Origin...

Hello all, just a quick query. I'm transplanting a V6 into my Torana LX Hatch but it would be beneficial to know what the engine and transmission I have is out of model-wise...

I've had a quick look but I'm unsure where to find the engine number/s.
If it's any clue the rocker covers appear to be plastic coated (the other engine I have - but not using has powdercoated rocker covers).
    Thanks.

I found the engine number (next to water pump on the passenger side), after looking into it further (& taking into account the thermostat position as mentioned above ^) the engine I have is out of a VP... Thanks all.
