Do 1.9:1 Rockers suit N/A ECOTEC if not what should be used
yes you can get high ratio roller rockers for n/a ecotecs.
by "1:9:1 rockers" i assume you mean the FIT ones....you should check out yella terra's range as well.. they do 1:8:1 stealth street rockers for both s/c and n/a ecotecs
what power increase is to be expected & has anyone done this & how easy is it to replace rockers & is this worth it when all you have is CAI & cat back exhaust?

Ive got rollers in my boats and they are pigs have to ajust them every 2nd time used. Is it the same with the fit ones. Some one told me today that the yellaa terra one are set and leave meaning ya put them on set them once and thats it
FIT 1.9:1 rockers are also set and forget, gains of around 15-20 kilowatts are quite common in NA ecotech engines
what sort of lifters are in there? if they're hydraulic, something is wrong there.Originally Posted by Sparkie
Ive got 2 skiboat is solid and jetsprinter is hydraulic there is a problem the skiboat is pushing out about 1500HP out of a twin turbo bigblock and the sprinter is about 550 out of a N/A Small Block every one i know that has motors like these have the same thingOriginally Posted by EcotecManiac
Anyone got answers as to why the FIT rockers aren't recommended for VY on? Or do i have something wrong?
VY series I is ok by FIT for their reworked rockers, but their website say they don't work with the VY Series II (They don't say why)Originally Posted by Tradewind
But Yella Terra say their 1.8:1 stealths work fine with both series I & II.

That does seem typical of the Chevys with adjustable rocker studs for the Hydraulic and solid lifter cams.Originally Posted by Sparkie
But the V6 ecotec rocker set up is different in that its rockers are torqued down onto a pedestal stop of a pre set height. There is no adjusting the preload for the lifters.

That seems alittle high for a n/a V6 don't you think ? Maybe a S/C V6.Originally Posted by blofly

The FIT 1.9:1 reworked standard GMH rockers will suit bolt on drive away.Originally Posted by Sparkie
The Yella Terra 1.8:1 alloy full roller rocker will suit but requires a valve cover spacer and extra gasket.(which comes with the kit)
Then there is the offerings from America.
Intense racing Harland Sharp Gen3 1.9:1 full alloy roller rocker will suit but requires heavier valve springs to be fitted.
ZZp Comp Cams Pro Magnums in 1.6,1.7,1.8 and soon 1.9:1 full roller rockers will suit but the soon to be released 1.9's will require heavier valve springs.

as for how hard they are to swap over...the suppliers say its easy, but i dont like messin around with critical parts of my car,so im just gettin my mechanic to do it.so i wont have any feedback about the DIY difficulty...
have you tried a shaft mounted rocker setup? a friend of mine just bought a set for his new engine, set him back about $1200 from yella terra. takes adjustment away from the studs and instead there is an adjustable pushrod seat insteadOriginally Posted by Sparkie
just thought id give a bit of feedback to anyone who's thinkin wants to get high ratio roller rockers.
i got my vs back this arvo after gettin some yella terra 1:8:1 stealth street rockers put on by my mechanic...as soon as i started it up i could feel and hear the difference, the idle is just that bit deeper and the exhaust sound seems to be more aggressive across the rev range.
you really notice the torque and power's willingness right away, with just the slightest touch it really performs.
im quite happy with them overall, for how much i paid (in comparison to say a cam upgrade) the performance increase is quite good...
it cost me just shy of a grand all up for the parts and labour.
i recently had the FIT 1:9:1 roller rockers fitted to my vx.
alongside the HM headers and lukey exhaust they have got to be the best money i have spent on the car since the rims.
more torque, more rumble, more yee haaa!
