Hi all, Just thought i would give everyone an update on my yella terra intercooler progress. Got the supercharger & manifold back from being ported and fitted back on the engine. The front heat exchanger is fitted. I have had to fabricate new engine mounts to allow the engine to sit lower in the engine bay as i didnt want to cut the bonnet. Billet fuel rails are fitted and plumbed up, intercooler is plumbed up with the pump sitting under the front guard and the reseviour fitted in the engine bay. Just in the middle of tidying up some wiring so it looks a bit neater and a few bits and pieces need finishing and then it is off the my exhaust guy to have a new rear blower intake pipe fabricated. Cant wait to get it finished and tuned! Dont take any notice of the pully on it as i have got a much smaller one to go on when it gets tuned.

Hi Mark, i have been working on it tonight, just about finished now! I ended up making the rear supercharger intake myself, and it actually came up really nice. Danielsan, mine is the "TOWER OF TERROR" intercooler. Will post some more pics of the progress shortly. Just need to wire in the pump and finish off the engine wiring now!
i was expecting the "tower of terror" to be a little bigger prehaps??? but hey if thats what it looks like thats great, still got the stockish look to it.
be interesting to see what gains you get with the tower of terror.
NICE WORK MAN!!!!!
Those fuel rails are SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't wait to see some results from this puppy!!!
Best of luck with the build!!!

Hi all,
The car is up and running again, at the moment still has the same pully as in the photos (81mm i think) and it is bloody awesome! Not even tuned yet and i am really impressed! Lets just say 1st & 2nd gears are a real handfull. Should be going on the dyno for a tune in the next couple of weeks with the 63mm pulley and ls1 airflow meter all fitted. Here is the list of mods for anyone who is interested
*Yella terra tower of terror intercooler plate kit
*Billet fuel rails
*Yella terra snout
*Ported supercharger & manifold
*70 mm throttle body
*1.8:1 roller rockers
*Extractors
*Twin 2.5 into single 3" exhaust
*160 degree thermostat
*NGK Iridium plugs
*NGK leads
*Custom made 3" supercharger rear entry pipe
*Custom 90mm intake pipe for ls1 airflow meter
Will keep everyone posted when it goes on the dyno!
Hey, looking good...do you have any pics of the tower before you fitted it to your car ? Info and pic's are no existant while Yella Terra are taking their sweet ass time building their site... they should have left the old one running while they rebuilt...

Hi Sixshooter, here is a couple of photos of the cooler plate, snout (with the small 63mm pulley) and the billet fuel rails before it was all fitted, Enjoy!![]()

Cheers !.... Is the intercooler doweled together with locating pins ? It looks like a 3 piece unit that you can rebuild...I wonder what sort of seals they have between the pieces...?

Hi Sixshooter, you are quiet correct it is a 3 piece unit. The cooler plate is 2 pieces and the cooler core sits in between the cooler plates in a machined cavity. The cooler plates are not dowelled and are held together by the supercharger bolts. There are no seals as such between the cooler plates but there are rubber 'o' rings around the cooler core outlets. I did run a nice bead of RTV grey silicone between the 2 plates to make sure there is no vacuum/boost leaks. Hope this helps!
Cheers mate !

Hey VN
Set up looks awsome bet you love have it up and running.
I notice with the billet rails that you connected both your inlet and outlet/regulator on the same side there fore making the Passenger side a dead end.
Won't this allow fuel trapped on that side to get hot when there sin't a lot of flow say when idling.
The factory setups for all holdens has the fuel entering one end and exiting the other end to keep the fuel flowing through both rails using new fuel to help keep the rail cool.
Maybe it doesn't matter but I thought I would bring it to your attention.
Keep up the good work.
Some new pics of the finished product please.
Quite right and well spotted surfwagon.
Hey VN
HAHAHA I told you it would be a handfull..![]()
Wait till it's tuned![]()
Hey Mark, mate i am stoked with it! Should i put the pressure regulator on the left fuel rail as said by surfwagon? I never even thought of that to tell you the truth! Handfull alright, Cant wait till its tuned!!!!
The inlet usually runs on the passenger side and the reg on the drivers side.
All you need to do is to swap the rear fittings over and maybe run a longer feed line.
Once you get it tuned and start upping the boost is when you really notice the torque the PD blowers produce.
IT'S ALL JUST TOO MUCH FUN
Thanks mate will do! I can get an LS1 throttle body for nothing, was thinking about putting it on before it gets tuned! What do you reckon? Is it worth it?
ABSOLUTELY.Originally Posted by VN Calais 5.0
And the LS1 MAF while your'e at it. Just do a dummy fit up first and then fit them permanantly at the dyno shop. You won't be able to drive around with them on untuned.
Yeh, got the LS1 MAF aswell! Going to fit the throttle body & MAF and then its off to the dyno!
Hi all, Am just finishing fitting the LS1 throttle body (will post some pics when it is fitted). It is going to chip control on Friday afternoon for a tune so i should have some results by Monday night. Will let you all know when its done!
