Default Ive got $2000 to spend. Want to modify my engine. What to do?

    Hi Guys

Last night i dragged a VT commodore with pacemaker extractors, exhaust etc. and we were side by side the whole way. I think thats pretty good for a Statesman to keep up with a commo. My car is stock in every way.

I have decided to do mods to the engine. I have $2000 to spend on the mods.

Just wondering on what people suggest i should do? No superchargers or turbos please.

    Any suggestions would be great.

    Cheers

Rip it apart and rebuild it.
Ive heard bad stories about ACL race series so id go something like Wiseco.
Bore it out a few thou.

Just take it into a good engine reco place and they'll tell you what direction to go in.
A 2k rebuild should turn some heads

Dont forget to add an exhaust with all that

buy a laptop and EFI Live v4 and a diagnostics cable and run it in your car!!

    Thats money well spent.

The car only has 84000kms i dont think it needs a rebuilt feels orite.

Ive been told that a twin cat exhaust system would see a 19kw gain on the dyno. $1200

And that the FIT 1:9:1 roller rockers would add about 16kw. $895

    What do you rekon?

do you just want bolt on's.
If so go for exhaust, Extractors, CAI, FIT 1.95:1 rockers and Chip.
Thats what ive got + twin TB intake and im satisfied

hmm, double post hey....well i gave an answer in your other one...but ill repeat myself anyway.
with that $2k id invest in a cam grind, chip and 3.45 diff gears.
that would be your best value for money....although if you havent got a decent exhaust yet (which reading the post, it doesnt look like it) you should do that as well.
