hey im after a turbo kit or supercharger kit (internals as well) and was wondering if any1 new of any turbo kits available for the buick 3.8. i know of a few superchargers like the vortech or powerdyne kits that capa supply and the eaton m90 so if any1 has any ideas or knows much about any turbo or supercharger systems could you please let me know

I am really liking the new Yella Terra Kits for the Super 6. It includes a water cooler under the stock charger and with only a cam and head work they are making 350rwhp+ in a stock bottom end.
There is a guy in vic that sells new super 6 motors for abot $5500 with everything but ECU however the stock ecu can be moded to run it as i have installed one into a VS wagon.
There are a few turbo kits coming out but most internals are custom. WHat budget are you sticking to?
im looking for a kit to do work on a vn s2 motor to vr dont wanna get the super 6 motor im lookin for big power

arent they just lower compression with not much work done to them though

nah mate, a bit deifferent than that, i would be best to ask someone on here that knows but, internally they have stronger pistons/rods, different heads. a whole different story really, FIT quote that maximum safe level for boost is 14psi, and that should give you a good 300rwhp (intercooled) which is very good in my books for safe power from the v6.
im thinking of going with this setup looks easier then most does anyone know anything about this setup with a t3/t4 turbo
MY CAR
yeah i wudnt crank it up past 10psi (if that) on stock motor
Well 10K will get a turbo on the car and running with all ignition and fuel sorted using quality parts. How ever it wont leave much for engine rebuild.
What sort of power are you after? and what are you goint to do with it Drag, Circuit or Street?
If its street, I say Supercharge it man! Easier to pass RWC or defects, just take off the superchargerNo manifolds etc. to worry about. And a supercharger running 12psi or so will give you more than enough power on the street and occasional track/drag use.
the manifold setup was 500 bucks on ebay and then just buy a t3/t4 turbo from somewhere then get new rods pistons headwork done camshaft and other stuff and if i head towards a supercharger im thinkin of the m90 eaton or the vortech kit i dunno theres too many options. anyway its gonna be a while b4 i start building im gonna start buying parts as i save enough money and go along like that and i have to learn a bit more bout it b4 i rush into it to fast. i have enough to start buying most the parts now but i'll leave it a while yet.

M90 on the Buick engine is hassle and wont make anything near the power or boost of the Vortech. The M90 is just the Supercharged 6 supercharger from the later models..
Pistons - ACL - They will make Forged pistons on request.
Rods - Argo
Camshaft - Camtech
Head - Local head shop - because boosted motors dont need much
Turbo - Ray Hall - Reccomend - GT30 - 475HP (High Quality Ball Bearing) - KKR - Reccomend - 430 (quick spool) or 480 (Mid Quality Wet Floating Internal Gate) - Master Power - Reccomend - Any really as they are Cheap (Low to Mid Quality Wet Floating)
Intercooler - eBay (Cheap Bar & Plate) KKR (Quality Bar & Plate) PWR (High Quality Tube & Fin)
Oil Line Kit - eBay Speedflow Kit
Manifolds - Magic Performance, Pro Flow or Tasty Turbos.

you can run a blow off valve with the vortech to![]()
wat about head gaskets and compression

FIT manifolds are now back in production, see link below:
Turbos Never Looked So Tasty

do you need any internal mods to run 1 of those vortech supercharger kits? and about how much for the full kit?
there was a turbo manifold like that on ebay for 500 bucks yesterday
MY CAR
that would have been the exhaust wizzard not tasty turbo's ones...
The full kit is like 7 grand on the CAPA site, and with a charger ready to run 20psi... You'd want some internal modifications if you're gonna run that much boost! If you're only gonna run 10-12psi... Then you probably wouldnt bother getting that sorta kit, something cheaper that fits that boost range such as a Raptor kit or... Powerdyne if ya desperate![]()
wat do i need to do about compression for running approx 12-15 psi boost or can i keep it standard and just use copper head gaskets or standard head gaskets
