super 6 manual?
what gearbox would be best or most economic to put behind a super 6 l67 motor? t5, celica 5, or another suggested type?
do you have to modify the ecu as well. also i do not want to go fully manualised auto.

T56 would be your best option. If your splashing out, maybe even a TKO box.
I've heard getrag 5 speeds don't really like torque.
Email Mal Wood (search in google and you should find his website), he'll be able to give you the best advice

T5 is been used by a few people with sucess at decent power levels. How long they will keep holding on is another story

My thoughts exactly. Better to be warned than to throw $4000 onto the scrap heap like i did.
Got a T56 now, no problems at all!!!

yerrrrrrp
Mine played along nicely for about 6 months after it was freshly rebuilt...
after that the synchros and such started playing up a bit
but it still engaged all gears (although you had to get the revs right).. turned out I'd snapped a few synchro ring 'tabs' or whatever they're called. (hold the synchro ring near the gear? 3 of em, spring loaded)

My tuner works on a super six VS that has one of the american crate engines in it with a whipple charger.
That has apparently 250rwkw+ at the wheels and is running it thru a T5 and ceramic clutch... and that car isnt babied

Is anyone making a bellhousing to fit the aisin AY 6spd to an ecotec??? Haven't heard much about these boxes yet, are they good gear?
I really like the idea of a 4.48 ratio first gear and still a top gear ratio of 0.75 You wouldn't need to swap diff gears!

There was someone building bellhouses to fit a T56 to a L67, not sure about ecotecs. To be honest, its not really needed on an ecotec and they arnt that powerful. And if you are making massive power... Well your better off dropping a L67 in.

L67 and ecotec are the same thing, the L67 just has a blower screwed on top with stronger rods/pistons and the heads are machined to have the injectors fitted instead if them being in the intake manifold because the blower is in the way. same block
