how different is the gearbox crossmember on an ecotec manual to a vk/vl auto?

Ecotecs use the getrag gearbox. im not 100% if t5's will bolt up to an ecotec. you would probly need to get special g'box crossmember made and engine crossmember from CRS.

the ecotec was released with the T5, so you will just need the ecotec t5 running gear to mount it all up

T5 gearbox into vk (i assume vl aswell) gearbox mount Can be bought from hdt or rare spares part no. 20052

very informative first post, although you may wish to get your facts straight. the s1 VS came with the T5 box, s2 VS got the getrag. any T5 box from a buick V6 can be used on a ecotec. use the original crossmember from the donor car as it will bolt straight into the VL. for trans mount see post above
