Default VN V6 Mods

Hi guys im new to the forums, sorry if there is a thread somewhere already regarding this but i did a search and couldnt find much. Im wondering what some good and relatively cheap mods are fr my S1 VN V6. I just brought it last week and it has a vs v8 cai and a k&n panel filter. Ive pmed greenfoam about a tune but thats about it. Im going to get rid of the v8 cai and et a supercharged 6 one as it is much larger and should flow better bt what else is there?
Thanks guys
Paul

a few people remove the manifold temp sensor and back of manifold and plug up that hole and he tap it into the inlet or airbox. so it reads the cold air not the heat of the manifold. may make a slight gain by making it run that bit richer?

Well yeah i'd personally be waiting for greenfoam's tune as well and even see what else he suggests, he seems to know alot bout just about anything to with commodores. If nothing else makes much of a gain your at least garanteed foams tune will add some from what ive heard.

the foam tune is about the biggest single gain your going to get, it works better with a decent 2.5" exhaust and headers.

then do the diff gears and LSD followed quickly by fitting a corvette servo in the slush box and maybe a shiftkit

otherwise check my thread for some s1 VN mods(manual)

Depends on your driving style and conditions, with the manual id say 3.45 or 3.7 at the most... Any higher and youll loose 1st completly...

auto's are different cos of their ratios.

aZk.

i've got 3.45's and thats good for everyday road use. for a outright race car i'd go either 3.73 or 3.89 but that really shortens 1st gear to the point of almost not using it.

haha i had 3.9's behind my 5 speed a while back. i could start in 2nd gear from the lights no worries!! now im happy with 3.45

I'd be recommending either 3.45 or 3.7 and a nice free flowing exhaust. Also a Heavy duty clutch keeps things under control when you put the wick up it..
