Question pistons and rods for ecotec

im looking into rebuilding my ecotec as an n/a beast haha. i was after a set of pistons, rods, big end bearings (if needed) and rings that would go straight in without boring out the cylinders and that would up the compression a lot. Also i will be shaving the heads if need be. ps.. everything else on my motor is done so only need to know about this stuff.

so basically can i put pistons and rods in to up the compression without boring the cylinders? and with high compression what other things or problems will accure? thanks very much any info aprechiated\

You won't know if you will be able to put standard sized pistons back in untill the motor is apart.....You need to see what sort of lip is at the top of the bores, if it's not too bad you might just get away with a hone and wack a new set of pistons & rings in and away you go. If it's pretty bad, then it's rebore time! If it's done a few K's, chances are it will need a rebore and a set of eversize pistons & rings....If you are only building a N/A engine then see if you can get hold of a set of L67 rods, they will be plenty strong enough.
