Default Billet products getrag short shift

Anyone tried the new billet products short shifter released for the getrag 5spd? I'm about to give one a go, just after any comments if someone has got one. Not sure if ill have any luck... They have just come out recently

Here's a link to their webpage:

Billet Products Australia - Home to the Billet Pro Series shifters

Basically... 35% throw reduction, standard shifter height, adjustable positive stops... all the usual features of their other products.
There is nothing said about a self centering spring pack to help out the 2nd to 3rd shift (major selling point for the billet T5 shifter), but I assume this is because the getrag box already has this function built in, so is not needed.

I guess no one has tried them out so i'll let youz know how it goes, for anyone interested

G'day M8
I've had 1 for about 5-6 weeks.Money well spent, yes $400 delievered and very quick delievery too.Approx 65mm between 1st-2nd and same for the rest.Only took me about 45 minutes to fit.I think it's also a tad shorter too.All up IMO well worth it.

Thanks for the feedback, that sounds pretty good to me. Did it make the shifter feel less sloppy at all?
That rubber mount that attaches the shifter plate to the floor of the car gets fairly soft with age and lets the shifter move side to side a fair bit.

I'm actually thinking of removing the rubber mount and making a solid mount for the shifter plate. Not sure if this will cause any problems tho... like when the engine and box tilt slightly under load or starting the engine.

Anyone got any opinions on this?

Mines only got 31,000km's so it was tight as before I put the Billet in.Try it first and see,but I think you'll be good without modding it.

I'll see how the billet shifter affects the feel of the thing and make a decision then

Yeah I know, I wouldn't have minded a shorter stick either. You could probably cut the top inch off the stick and dremel out the cut in the middle - if your putting the original knob back on. But I dunno if thats such a good idea. Might not be very user friendly... hardly any throw at all, physically tougher to push into gear, and tougher visually to tell which gear your in. But would look a lot better
