Hi, is there any on out there who's working on V6 engines and producing serius HP, I have developing my VY ute V6 for the last 3 years currently we are getting 393 rwhp with a supercharger
We are running a steel crank from the US rated to 800hp we modify this, internal balanced ( No Balance shaft) 5.7 H beam rods Forged pistons, S/S valves Oversize
T trim at this time belt is slipping at 17 psi engine RPM is 5500, computor is a SM4 wired in the system
This sounds very ineresting! I'd love to hear some more info on this engine. Got any dyno footage?
Hey matchport. Was that your ute at Cairns all Holden Day?Looks and sounds awsome if it was.
Yes I had a Dyno printout on the dash
Nice bit of work mate. That was my silver vy ute parked behind you.I wanted to catch up with you but every time you were about there was a heap of people hanging off you.lol
Are you from Cairns?
Mission Beach.Have you started a thread on your ute?
I,m Working also on a N/A engine, crank is 4340 rods are billet (Argo) with flat top pistons , inlet is 1.9" S/Steel ech 1.6" S/Steel cam power is 4000-7500 rpm, Should see approx 300 hp at the bags
goodluck with that one man
just wondering though - if your blown engine with 17psi+ (im guessing from what you said about the belt slipping at 17psi) shoved down its throat makes almost 400hp. what on earth is going to get an n/a engine up to 300hp?
seems optimistic to me, but id love to hear the plan for it all the same.
Quagmire: My fellow Americans, I have not been entirely truthful with you. I did gagoogidy that girl. I gashmoygadied her gaflavity with my googus. And I am sorry.
With a big stick and some decent compression, 300 hp at the treads could be possible! It will take revs and lots of them though. Would definately be a pig of a street engine.....
You have it we are looking at approx 7500/ 8000 rpm to get this. some of the stage II Buicks at 8500 rpm getting approx 450 Bhp
thats some decent numbers. i notice you refer to the yank parts, they use slightly different names for there V6 engines there S1 engines is the same as our buick 3800 engines used from VN to VR there s2 buick engines are what we call the ecotec. it'll be good to see someone hit the 300rwhp n/a with a V6.
damn yanks, cheap, high quality engine parts for the masses. who cares about global warming![]()

Good to see Immortality for your support, I believe it can be done Ill get some pictures and send this to you on the N/A sofar and the running Charged unit in my VY
soemones gotta break the barrier n/a and then everybody will know whats required. with the tough bottom end parts you have from the US it's only a matter of time before you hit the mark.
you seem to have a good supply of US parts, do those yanks have some decent heads for the ecotecs?

Aluminium head are on a series 2 (Ecoteck) engine as we speak, valve are moved and porting is spot on, I think in the next 13 weeks we can see the heads
If these heads come through they will be a mile stone for Ecotec development.
The alum heads should take 2.05 inlets at the moment best dyno run was 450RWHP cost $ 1200.00us
Ecotecs take 1.90intakes max. 2.05 is an improvement as long as the alloys can flow enough to match the valve diameter. Flow rates @ lift?
problem with cast heads and 1.9 inlets is hardfacing on seat is removed you require upper lube to make it last.
These aluminium heads sound like they could be the goods when they are finally sorted.
Great power figure you got, how does she drive.
Like someone else said you need to start a proper thread on your ute with all the specs and pics, except the secret ones.
looking forward to more info and hopefully some pics.

What is a thread?
The original post that you made is what happenes when you make a new thread. If you make a new thread in the my ride section for your model you can post all your info and pics for us in there.
