Default Which should I get first - Roller Rockers or Extractors for ECOTEC?

Hi all,

Just a quicky.. I only have enough for one or the other at this stage, which would you recommend and why? Does $450 seem like an OK price for roller rockers (not fitted)? How about ~$690 for Extractors fitted?

Eventually I'd like to have both done, and at the moment the drivetrain is like this:

- Stock airbox with hole cut in the front of it
- K&N Panel Filter
- 2.5" Catback Straight-through exhaust
- Electronic Shift Kit (does this even count? lol)

Thanks

basically, in order to see the gains the higher ratio roller rockers are capable of you need a good flowing exhaust - so the extractors should come first.
installing the rockers would still see an improvement if you where to do them without having extractors, but its a case of having all the supporting gear (good intake setup & good exhaust setup) in place in order for them to see full potential.
with the extractors - if they dont come with a new y-piece (most dont!) then get one custom made when the extractors go on. if you have a look at the shocking press bent stock one you'll see why....there's no point having good extractors if the flow is getting choked going through a tiny y-piece after them.

first rule of engine modification.

1. Get it breathing right. Intake + exhaust.

aZk.

dont cut a hole in the front of the air box, for $50 ish you can get a vs supercharged CAI. That will make more difference than the hole

also the electronic shift kits are interesting, personally id say pay the extra and get a real shift kit lol

Thanks for your answers guys.. extractors it is then! Will ask about y pipe and even high flow cat when I'm there.. and will consider the S/C V6 CAI, only reason I havn't is the wife's car has one and it performs like crap (thinking it's the O2 sensor -and- paper filter.. fixing both issues soon)
