Perhaps you should read some of the threads and come up with some ideas that your happy with. We dont know your budget or how much power your looking for.

Roller Rockers such as 1.95 Yella Terra or the 1.97 FIT items are are good easy start. Approx $700-$800.

A supercharger like the Raptor systems seems to be quite good items these days. They are good for approx 190-210kw (with exhaust and roller rockers).. Budget for approx $5500 for the kit. More if you want it intercooled. Not too sure about Turbocharging. About the same sort of gains perhaps a bit more. But the trick piping for a V6 adds some costs.

If its dead stock, a full exhaust will help it sound better, but its mostly for the wank factor in terms of HP per $ gain until you get some supporting mods like the rockers or boost it.

And last but not least. the 4.2 Stroker kit. Couple of companies make them. Pricey but make for a solid engine that goes nuts when you throw a charger on it.

Theres something to wet your thirst. Check out Tim's (Who owns and runs Raptor SC) Raptor VY Exec buildup in the Raptor section for ideas and heaps of info.

Extractors: upto $650 installeds
2.5" Exhaust and Hi Flow cat: $500-$1000 for both
K&N PanelFilter: up to $100
NGK Iridium Spark plugs: upto $95
8-10mm Spark Leads: upto $150
Intake Insulator: $150
Higher ratio roller rockers: upto $700
Larger throttle body: around $180
Raptor Supercharger Stage 1: Around $5,500 (and 200plus rwkw)

Theres lots you can do it all depends on what u want to do and how much you want to spend! would be worth getting an LSD with higher ratio!

With the sucess of turbo additions to the Ecotec of late, I think you can't look past it if you're the all out kind of bloke.

If you don't want to blow a wad at any stage, a CAI, Roller Rockers, Catback exhaust and Corvette servo (or shift kit if funds allow) with diff gears for around $2000.

Get some High Lift rockers around 1.9:1 ratio and you are almost there, since its a VY not much you will do to the exhaust will help, maybe a cat back system but nothing more. Extractors etc don't do much unless a supercharger is bolted on.

Give it a good service front to back, do the rockers, change the pipe back from cat ........... thats about it, will pretty much get you done.

$1000 will cover a fair bit of it

So your losing 55kw through your driveline and its manual...thats alot...

A BA stock has 182kw at the fly and 140rwkw and its on auto, manuals tend to have around 145-148rwkw...

geez i thought the commodores would have had a bit more than that.

back on topic, i found with my old VS calais, once i changed the exhaust and put a CAI with K&N panel filter it went alot better, didnt feel as restricted and didnt need to rev as hard to get the power out of it...

i may have worked it out wrong!

but i read the just comm tech mag and it has a S/C commy with the yella terra mod/extractors and it ran 144rwkw and they claimed 144rwkw to be 215kw at the flywheel!

btw my dad has an XR6 manual with extractors and cold air intake and that has 136rwkw ill get the dyno sheet when i visit him next!

go to http://www.v6supercharged.com.au/dyno.asp

stock S/C 6 runs 115rwkw so 125rwkw for an NA isnt so bad!

you show me the V6 stock commy with 150rwkw
