    Default VR V6 Roller Rockers

    Hi all.
I am wondering if anybody knows of anyone that sells different ratio roller rockers.
I have seen that for the eco-tec V6 you can get 1.9:1 ratio rockers, increasing it from 1.6:1 , but these dont fit the non eco-tec motors.
Im guessing that it is beacause the non eco-tec motors have a lift of 1.65:1 , so maybe there is someone out there who sells other ratios for non eco-tec, i'd be happy with say 1.8:1 or 1.85:1

    Cheers.
    Alby.

YT is Yella Terra , and I think Yella Terra would make them for all Holden models ...

    FIT only support the eco-tec.
And all I can find on the yella terra website is 1.65:1 (standard)
I think that the lift of a 1.9:1 on a non eco-tec would cause valve to piston damage,
but if i can get 1.85:1, that should be the same lift.
Dont know of anywhere else i can get some rockers from?

I am also looking at these and would like to know how much these run out for retail?

    I have a 3.8L series 2 VR.

I looked on the YT site and they really played on the 'easy to install' angle. Is it easy or is best left up to mechanic?

...and what kind of $$ are we lookin at to get a mechanic to do the job?

oh and 1 more thing, are they even worth it...

    Cheers,
    Matt

I hope so. My V6 is at ~2PSI and exhaust, etc, and im at around 200Kw at the flywheel, so im after the claimed 10% in performance from this mod.

    Like the title says

I recently fitted the FIT 1.9:1 rockers to an ECOTEC and the difference was impressive. I would say the quoted 10Kw gain was there, what I am getting at here is that providing high ratio rockers can be got for your engine at a good price they should be well worth it.

they are worth it, i was told that they will give you approx 10 rwkw ( which isnt too bad dor a bolt on mod)

they aree easy to put on, but if you have your pistons exposed to do so, so basically if you drop a screw in there you will need to rebuild the engine more or less, for piece of mind id get them done professionally, but thats just my opinion.

The Yella Terra roller rockers are around $600 (thats the 1.8 ratio) the FIT rockers are around $800 (1.9 ratio). Theyll both give a pretty good increase in power around 10kw as someone previously mentioned, the FIT rockers a bit more. Its a simple mod to do. Pull off the rocker covers, take off the old pressed rockers, stick the new ones on with a bit of lube, put the rocker covers back on. Away you go. Much less hassle than a cam change, and much cheaper. There is no danger of engine damage, since you dont pull the valve springs off, so nothing can drop in the cylinders. Another good upgrade after that would be a custom tune for your chip.

The 1.8 and 1.9 ratio options are only available for the ecotec....

For the buick, I'd also like to know if anyone has fitted the 1.7 YT stealth which seem to be the only option for higher ratio rr for the buick.... the stock buick rockers are 1.65 so I don't think the buick would get the 10kw's gain that the ecotec can get with a rocker upgrade.

    Would be interesting to know....

    Cheers

I have fitted the YT Stealth (2017) to my VP, and they did make a difference in power, plus a noticable difference in the idle, so much smoother.

Easy as to fit yourself, 90 - 120 minutes to do.

For the Buicks the 1.72 ratio is all that YT make anymore .

Its not much of an upgrade like the ecotechs are .

Do you think they would be worth the $600 to buy or wait and get a cam?

FXST01, you seem happy with them.... also being able to fit them easily is appealing...

you have to get it tuned, but in combination with a bigger cam you should get considerable power increase.

You dont need a tune after RR'ers, and dont bother running RR'ers and a cam..........

another thing to consider is your valve springs. if they are pretty shagged then you are running a bigger risk at higher rpm with the increased rocker ratio. same goes for a higher lift cam, you can get spring bind up or valve bounce at higher rpm from the weaker springs. food for thought.

i got my RR's done a couple of weeks ago now.

id just like to say it is definately worth it.

i have that, an exhaust , and a CAI, and boy does it move.

    its bloody responsive too.

sure ecotecs get a better ratio, but trust me it is definately worth it.

You'll want the yella terra ST2016 roller rockers. (http://www.yellaterra.com.au/application.php?page=app7). They should set you back about $600
