Twin AU Thermo's to V6?
Hey guys,
Just wondering how easy it is to install the twin AU thermo's on a V6. Only really curious about the wiring.
Seeing as the V6 uses a thermo fan anyway, can you just wire the AU thermo's to a V6 plug then have it run the same as the standard fan plug and play?

Should be quite straight forward - refer to my VP thread below in my sig. You will need to alter the fuse as the single stock fuse is not enough to power the twin thermos. Why do you want to do it? I didn't think the V6's had overheating problems???

as reaper said, just increase the fuse size, because the V6 already has a thermo setup the rest has been done for you. there really isn't anypoint however as the standard thermo is more then capable of doing the job for a V6 unless your gonna front mount a turbo or something and need the room

Ah awesome. Its not for the V6 as im not keeping the V6... So its a question about using the V6 wiring for the thermo more than anything.
I found the post in your thread ( http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/768415-post142.html). Just wondering what amp fuses you used, and if you've had any problems to date?

The wiring and relay is there with the V8. I used 2 x 30amp from memory and wired it direct to the relay box as the wires looked a bit light weight that went in the loom. They only draw high current at startup and within a sec are down to less than 10amp for the pair.
I haven't had any problems what so ever with them. They come on at 91deg and turn off at 89. Doesn't take much to keep engine temp almost exactly constant. You may want to spread out those numbers a little to avoid the fans kicking in and out so much.

Assuming you have a 5D def file and you have wired it thru the correct relay....
KFANTCH Fan 1 on = 91 deg
KFANTCL Fan 1 off = 89 deg
KFANKPH = 0
If I get a few min I'll do a detailed "How To" on thermo installation over the next few days.
