Are the ecotec and l67 engine looms similar? Do both engines use all the same sensors and in the same locations?
The reason I ask is because I want to do an l67 conversion, but my VS is manual so the standard l67 loom will be useless (as all s/c engines were auto). Will my manual loom plug straight in, and more importantly... will the manual computer safely run the supercharged engine???

Obviously heaps of interest in the subject
From what I can see, everything is in different locations, coolant temp sensors, injectors etc etc. I can modify my existing loom to reach all these locations but are there any different sensors on the L67 that wont have a plug available on my n/a v6 loom? MAP sensors???
I dont wanna have to chip an L67 ECU to run manual gearbox if my existing manual PCM will run the engine
Yeah as you said they are almost the same, just a few things are in different locations. The only thing missing on the NA loom is the wiring for the solenoid that limits boost when the engine is very hot or in reverse![]()
Thanks Thomas, thats exactly the type of info I was after, I had no idea that boost was reduced when in reverse or when hot. So i'm guessing that the manual PCM will not be able to control this function.
Does anyone know if it is actually possible to run the L67 on ecotec management
I don't think it will be able to run the solenoid.
It is possible (well it better be because I'm planning on doing it this way lol) to run it on the ecotec loom. But I'm getting mine tuned, so I don't know how it will run on the ecotec tune. Maybe someone can shed some more light on this...
Thanks again thomas. I guess if i'm gonna tune the ecotec memcal to run the l67 then I may as well tune the l67 memcal to run manual hey.
