    Default ecotec cam and rockers

    hey guys,

is there a good grind for a ecotec? or a specific grind? like common good grind for the 304 is 286
and whats the deal with the hi ratio rockers? can i still use them with a big cam? just not a big ratio?

    cheers, Ben.

there are plenty of grinds for the ecotec, hit up come racing or crow cams (awaits flaming), with the rocker ratio you need to encorporate that into your cam selection, normally if you are going a big cam, a higher ratio rocker isnt really needed.

spoke to come racing they reccomended:

    CSBR523
    LIFT: 533ex 507in
    ex 232@.050 in 222@.050

needs 10.1 comp tho, and rpm range 3,000 to 6,000

also, crow and and come both said dont bother with the high ratio rockers as for there really designed for standard cam.

this is a bit bigger than the 992a grind, but im sure would be a nice size on an ecotec motor, if you are retaining the standard rocker ratio.

yes the higher ratio rockers are normmaly used when keeping the original cam profile.

sheesh, that cam that c.o.m.e. recommended is a decent size...maybe a little too big for a streeter. what are your plans for the car?
if its only really a daily driver then i'd go just a little smaller than that or your going to be revving the tit's off it to get moving.
was it a hydraulic roller cam? if so, must be one of the biggest they make. you definately want a hydraulic roller if its a daily driver, way too much bullshit messing around with a solid.

it is way bigger than a 992a
i would say the 992a or 1114a would be around the right size for a street driven ecotec (both are smaller that that c.o.m.e. cam).

i second that... dont get a cam that is too big if you are goin to drive it on the street. It can get annoying sometimes!

and you will need some sort of stally or else it will be an absolute pain to drive

just another question about the wade camshaft (1114a) i rang them and there main guy is away, so he's not sure if the 1114a is a re-grind or a billet cam?

    does anyone know?
and yes, the wade one is a hydraulic.
