Default Bang for buck, cam or hi-lift rockers

Hey guys, what are your thoughts, would I see a bigger gain from a Wade 992a cam or fitting hi lift rockers factoring in the cost of each and any sundry parts needed?

Could someone add a poll to this if necessary?

cost of say 1.9 rockers are around $700-900 pending lift and brand. installation u can do yourself.

cam itself i believe u can buy for $200-900 pending brand and specs, the only thing is the labour is the killer with a cam install so a total is roughly $2000+. when going a big cam its best to increase compression which can comprise of a total rebuild with hi compression pistons or just a shave of the head to bring it up a bit.

well a cam would obviously be better than the rockers... just depends on how much you want to spend... i think high ratio rockers are a great bank for buck mod for people that cant afford or dont want to spend the money getting a new cam installed.. as rockers are much easier to fit and pretty much anyone with basic mechanical knowledge can do it.. However if you are able to fit the cam yourself then i'd most certainly go with that as it ends up cost not much more at all... i think if i remember correctly wade cams quoted me $660 plus postage for the 992a... and rockers are around $650.. a few gaskets is all you'll need to buy apart from the cam as the 992a will be fine with stock valve springs and what not...
I think if you are mechanically minded there is enough info on the internet for you to read that you can change the cam yourself no trouble at all..

anyway thats what i think =D.. lol

Ok, was thinking of fitting the cam myself, done a few 253/308 and gem motors but haven't opened a V6 yet.
Do most people re use the roller lifters if they are in good condition cause that would blow it thru the roof if they need replacing?

I got new lifters when i put the cam in, but if they are in good condition it should be fine.
If you get another stock cam you can get it custom grinded to the specs of a wade cam,
you can get the wade 1250 its just a baby doesnt need a tune, or the wade 992a cam and it will need a tune, you will need an adjustable timing chain and degree wheel and dial gauge to tune it in.
