Anyone recommend better coils for the V6. Do MSD do something?? Have seen some Red Coils someplace ...... can't recall
Best option for the VN S2 onwards is the MSD coils(see link below) these will only fit the VN V6 S2 onwards, they can be fitted to the S1 if wiring changes are made. 3 of these are required and they bolt straight on to VN V6 S2 with no changes needed. Most auto performance shops sell them for around $75 each
MSD GM 2 Tower coils
Ta. Thanks heaps
gotta watch them but coz appently u need some kind of amplifier to run then or get ur computer tuned for them otherwise u will loose power
$75!!! I wish, super cheap quoted $120ish each for em
I would love to know where everyone gets there $75 MSD coils from???
Not sure if there is any difference with them or not, but the Super6 coils have a different part number to standard ecotech coils.................

I'm running them now on my car without any amplifiers and running the stock computer. It does make a little differents to the factory coils(But the coils on the car were 15years old). For chasing performance I recommend to keep the standard coils for a stock engine. Upgrade a good set of 8.8mm leads and plugs first before considering upgrading the coils.Originally Posted by vpbeast

As far as I knew Rocket Ind didnt sell to the public..............I have emailed them a few times about products and pricing and they always says check with your local parts distributer.
Also speedfreaks site is down and I thought $75 was the SC group buy price only? Plus havent heard from him in ages..................

Well I got mine for $90 but a friend worked behinded the counter plus I did not want to fart around shopping for the cheapest price plus it was the Coils came in the next dayOriginally Posted by AirStrike
When I had one coil died it took me 3weeks to get a replacement from rocket(They said there was nothing wrong with it).
But anyway I know that autobarn wanted $150 and I said "no thanks".
Shop around I think there is a shop would would sell them cheaper.
So if a VN S2 dfi and coils fit straight into a VN S1 how come wiring modifications are needed to be done for the MSD coil packs?

For the S2 coils its a stright swap for the MSD's. There are no modifications required so I belive that once you convert the S1 coils setup to S2 you would need to change the coils.
I just swapped over the whole lot.
