    Default Possible modifications for a V8 5.7L ...

    Hey guys.

I will be 21 soon and I just bought a MY06 VZ SS 5.7L Auto. I bought it considerably cheap ($21,990) with 60,000kms on it. My age being what it is, I'm fairly new to actually handling V8's and spent the last 3 years driving a VT II executive.

What engine modifications could be done to my VZ? I'm open to anything and everything seeing as I saved a few dollars picking the car up so cheap, I'm even open to turbos and superchargers.

well if i wanted to spend every cent i saved specifically for this car we're looking between 7 and 8 thousand. i want as much power as i can out of it.

    What about chip?
radiator mounted cold air intake would best?
do anything with the exhaust manifold?

Extractors and a full exhaust, an OTR and a tune will see mid 12's on the quarter, without even touching anything else. Depends on whether you want a dyno princess or a quick car.

I can hook you up with the exhaust side of things for $2200. Gets you 4-1 tuned extractors, hi flow cats and a twin 2 1/2" system.

CAPA : Supercharger Kits would be your best bet for big power bro boost the crap outa it or jimmy up your own turbo kit if your half decent with a set of spanners and a welder

06 is a 6L L76.. If you were to cam it you'd have to change the lifters etc, could add up in price aswell as a convertor and gears.. IMO if you had 7-8 grand to spend id get a single turbo kit, just upgrade the fuel pump to a walbro, keep it low boost for now until you could upgrade to a surge tank twin pump system. Get the exhaust mated up to a cheap twin 2.5" catback.
