5L vp EXTREMEY sluggish

hey guys, i have a 5l vp, on gas, and over the last month its been so gutless and sluggish, i mean iv been getting blown of by chicks in daewoos and v6s.

before i go on, it has a LSD but for some reason it goes to 1 wheel 70% of the time when i give it some stick. also when the diff has been left over nite i jack it up and i cant turn the wheels, but when i drive for a bit and then try turn them, they turn fine. shims? (NOT IRS)

It also feels that my trans is slipping, at high rev it some times stops accelerating and just revs out then hits 2nd gear and slowy gets going again, but it only does it in 1st to 2nd. (AUTO)

i replaced my plugs, leads, dizzy cap, rotor button and air filter today and it made NO performance increase. it also backfires comming down threw the rev range on gas.

when i bought it, it went pretty hard on gas and petrol, but now it seems to be a shitbox.
i have not yet done the timing on it.

I'd suggest having the gas system looked at. They're bastards at the best of times IMO.

As for the LSD, change the oil and see how you go.

Yea, my next guess was to get the gassed system looked at, i had the car idleing for about 5 mins after i put the fresh oil and filter in, and the bottom of the gas converter was red hot.

as for the oil ill deffinately change it asap. but will oil make it 2 way again? i also hear a little whinning comming from the left side when rolling at 80kmh, the left side is also the 1 that isnt working.

Whining might well be a wheel bearing.

If your gas converter is getting red hot, I wouldn't drive it. Something really not right.

i dont like driving it, but i have no choice, il try and get it booked in monday for the gas to be checked out, also getting a rich smell from exhaust.

I got a VS with 5L on gas and I suspect my gas system needs checking. Let me know how much it ended up costing and what they did. Good luck
