I found out the other day the block which I not long ago rebuilt is actually 40thou over (it's getting rebuilt again by the pro's this time lol).....but as I was told it was std bore when I bought it, I put std rings on the pistons and never bothered to measure. The gaps did look a bit big but figured it just must be right as I haven't done many b4 so don't have anything to compare them too.
My motor still made 174rwkw. I guess with smaller rings the compression would of been down a bit and would explain why it did smoke a bit. Does that sound right? So really it would of made more power if I used the correct rings?

sure would have.
174kw in what is the same as having a knackered motor is pretty decent!
wow dude! didnt you see the 0.04 punched on the piston?!?!
lol, that woulda been some gap.
There was no markings on the pistons which is another reason I just assumed they were std lol.
