    Default Conversion!!

    Hey!

Im currently in the middle of doin my conversion on my Vh Sle from a 308 and trimatic box to a 5.0L efi with a Th350. As u may know the 308's powersteering pump is on the passenger side.... and with the 5.0L it is mounted to drivers side! I Plan to run it with pwr-steering (Original steering rack) and was wondering what to do with the hoses from the rack to the pump in regards to installing the new pump to the driver side!....do i switch the alternator with pwrstr pump or is there some thing u can do with the hoses???? i know there is a few of u out there that have done the same conversion so all help appreciated
    cheers

Not really sure bout this, but worst case is youll have to get some lines made up to run around the motor to the other side, prob tidyest to over the back of the motor around the bell housing.

thought about it but the alt bracket and pwr pump fom the 308 are pretty sh#tty and would like to keep everything mounted in correct posistion.
the VH alt bracket is the chunky one with th a/c mounts.

the pwr str pump i have on drivers side (new posistion) and the pressure lines tap into the rack beneath the steering shaft (original connection) so itl be a more or less straight run from rack to pump.
