just wondering if anyone has used that setup. does it mess with the vac secondarys?
or even a holley vac secondarys for that matter. i know trimatics and torkers dont play together nicely, wondering if it affect the carby too.
quadrajet's don't really have vac secondaries like a holley.
they have a mechanical link to the secondary butterflys. However they have a top airflap that is opened by the airflow/vacuum through the secondary barrels when the bottom butterfly opens and it's hooked up to a metering rod which determines how much fuel is delivered. The airflap tension is adjustable, so I can't see there being a problem.
mechanical secondaries! as darren quoted! just bolt on a 650 mechanical double pumper instead
thanks, i know how they work. but to clarify ...the primarys use manifold vac to suck down the metering rods, secondary vacuum is based on initial metering. single planes are known to have erratic vacuum, so was wondering if it has any effect on a quaddys performance based on their vacuum issues... prolly shouldve worded it better in post 1. im looking at single plane manifolds, but wanna make sure i can retain the quaddy.
nice hijack. dude, send a PM. and im not interested in a double pumper, i am asking about a quaddy, or a holley vac secondarys.
