    Default Maf tune no otr

Hi all, am looking at gettin a maf tune done
but am not sure whether or not i should spend
the extra cash and get an otr.
Ive got full exhaust system and 2 hole mod would like to
know what gains in performance and driveability to expect
with jus the tune and what difference the otr would make.
    Cheers
    BUT IS IT TURBO???

I got a stock vxss (factory all stock) and had a tune done (pcm remapping). The guy disconnected the maf (just pulled the plug) so it still looks legal and then remapped the pcm. It made a hell of a difference: spins the wheels in second (its an auto) and the gear changes are sharper but have to use 98ron fuel to stop slight detonation under high revs. Better economy even using the more expensive fuel. Best $500 Ive ever spent.
Im in Adelaide but give LSX tune a call.

    2) then made it MAFless by disconnecting maf? but everythings still there just unplugged..
    3) then remapped ecu?

im a little confused is this what you had done? sorry im a newb.
    cheers

If your still running the maf (even if it is disconnected) you missed the point of a mafless tune. The maf itself is a restriction thus why you get a mafless tune an ditch the maf. Anyway to the OP get an OTR well worth it.
Take it easy...But do take it...

It's also due to the older maf's not being flexible enough to deal with changes in air speed, temp etc.

Took the maf off and filled the gap left behind with 90mm aluminium thin walled tube. Tune was done by LS1 tune in Adelaide..

Yes the maf was left to look legal but decided to remove it after and put in a 90mm pipe to fill the gap. He remapped the ecu after he disconnected to MAF.
