The ignition module in my VN v8 bit the dust the other day. Car would cut out randomly and over big bumps.
Some of the prices for replacements seem a bit rich, and i know that they can be repaired. So does anyone know exactly how it's done?

I'd guess at a cracked solder joint.

yeah mate ive priceing a few up over the last couple of days...pretty bloody exe hey!
some places do an exchange basis...give em your dud for a reco one for about 200approx
or a new one through holden is about 500. if you can try and find where it goes open circuit
as 88GreenVn said its probly a solder crack
I dont have one to play with. I've fix several Holden items with cracked solder joints - open it up and have a look - or PM me to set up as time to have a look - I'm down Seaford way.
