what ells is out there for the old 5L i know there isnt much apart from cam and cai and the full exhaust iv got a twin on mine. everyone says get a 3" but i thought be to big for a 5L.
Not much?
Stroker kits
Flat top pistons
Heads
Manifolds
Cams
Roller rockers
Extractors
Exhausts
What more do you want? There is plenty of go fast gear out there for the Holden 5 litre.
Turbo or a Supercharger, if u wanna get real fancy u can go blown supercharged or intercooled supercharged
In otherwords just change it from a N/A motor
Twin turbo 396ci FTW!

Guy who done my dyno never mentioned rockers manifold and flat top pistons. I can't find roller rockers for these any where though. I'm thinking of giving a mace Memcal a try since Vt hsv ones are hard to come by

you won't need rockers unless you go with a decent sized cam
those engines need a better manifold/throttle
diff gears help
yeah going to get diff gears what size is good dont want to rev to much on highway driving like 2500rpm would be all id want to go, well was thinking mace polished 70mm throttle body soon well as a mace cai
I had 3.89 in my VN 5L auto it reved around the 2400 - 2500rpm @ 110km
yep bang on... my 3.9's sit at 2350 at 100kmh
to be honest i really didnt notice a difference in fuel consumption sitting at 100kmh
before i had the diff gears done i was getting 11L/100km sitting at 100kmh
then after the 3.9's and fitting a speedo corrector i was revving more but was still getting 11L/100km at 100kmh
