    Default 304 v8 advice

    hey guys ive got a vn v8 calais sv enhanced
    it has a 248 cam in it


    question i want it to sound more lumpy how would i go about doing this exhaust? if so what kind of exhaust?

    Well what exhaust is on it now? 3 inch springs to mind but you can lose back pressure. But it will sound better... But a bigger cam and tune will fix this issue also

    Had a twin 2 1/4 on my VN no rear reso sounded loud and lumpy with the cam

    As above what exhuast is on at the moment? And just to clarify.. You do not want or need backpressure... backpressure prevents the exhaust from evacuating the cylinder and leaves residual gasses inside which prevents a full intake charge from entering the cylinder, this gets worse as RPM increases..

    Best system, or what i like is (extractors, twin 2.5" pipes, twin cats (standard holden ones will do), merge, twin mufflers, then merge into single 3" around the diff then use a resonator ) A resonator will take any shit droning out and also will stop it sounding like a tug boat.
