im looking for a inlet manifold for a vt 5L as in one that flows more better than the stock one. all i have done atm is hsv memcal and twin 2.5" cat back.
what sort of mods to you have in mind for the future ?
because if you don't have any real big plans, you are better off keeping the factory manifold. They are probably the best all round manifold for an engine with only mild modifications
as of now has twin 2.5" red back cat back with all mufflers still, and a 195kw hsv memcal.
furture mods are extractors, hi flow cats, stage 2 cam maybe ported heads, mace cai and polished tb and maybe bigger rockers. if i was go all out id go down the path of strockering it. for now this wont be happening for abit though. been told might need a straight 3" exhuast though if im going to cam it. but i'll lose power with a 3" atm.
was trying to find the manifold that looks like stock but flows more air forget the name guy in shepp had one on his vq reckons was best thing he done for it.
dont ask me thats what they call it at super balance they go stage 1 2 and 3? only after a mild cam and they said that's a stage 2?
the old Starr Manifold looks completely stock, except it the neck of the manifold has been modified to fit a 90mm throttle body. Some reasonable results from these on strokers, although they still aren't great for making power at anything much higher than 5500 rpm, due to the design. But as opposed to most of the other aftermarket manifolds, they do maintain very impressive low to mid-range torque.
Starr doesn't sell them anymore, but but these guys do

starr manifold aint worth it - while your car is still close to stock your best to hit up mace and get a 70mm throttle and bore your neck on the manifold to 70mm
unless you do H/C or stroker get a come twin throttle manifold
