Default 304 efi rebuild idea. Expected power gain?

    Rebuilding my 304 efi v8

Interested power gain or kw output

    268 compucam (1400-4000)
Deck heads for a healthy 9:1 comp (stock 8.5:1)
    Full complement Balanced
Roller rockers (due to adjust the valve train cos of decking)
Vn low rise single plane manifold, (drilled for injectors)
    1000cfm throttle body
Matched ported, and slight porting of heads
    7kg yella terra flywheel

And the obvious extractors, 2 1/2 inch exhaust, 3.45 gears, t5 gearbox

So I'm interested how much kw or rwkw will I approx get?

Budget rebuild by the way lol

    Thanks for looking :-)

Yeah my mate rebuilt his Calais with stock internals and threw it on the dyno. It pulled 132rwkw's. Its now super charged and he's pretty happy with the current figures.

Ahhh k cool as mate, so can I expect a tad more like 140rwkw seeing as tho it's got a small cam and slightly higher comp and can breath more?

Yeah, your only going to want more at the end of the build, so maybe you should save for a few more months and buy some internals that can handle boost?

That way you can bolt on a turbo or a charger and be safe. My mate is on borrowed time with his set up at the moment..

Ahhh k, i understand where ur coming from, but I'm more of a N/A motor fan, lol and also I had to pull the motor out to fix the sump gasket, so just thought why not freshen it up, I'm going to go down the road of solid cam, and hi comp etc later on (saving for a house ATM) or maybe even 383 stroker unsure
So yeah just wanna get a few more hp out of the old girl for now :-) :-)

This isnt a rebuild thread. All you listed is a budget way to increase power. Considering what you plan on doing half that stuff isnt necessary.

Dont waste money on manifold and TB as with those specs you listed theyre not going to offer anymore power. The 1000 odd you spend on them would be better going towards a acl race series rebuilt kit and machining

I understand what ur saying but, I'm a machinist so I can do all the machining myself! and I don't like the STD manifold can't change the dizzy and there just down right ugly! Iv built a few engines and it's all about the little things to make every thing work to it's best, like for example balancing
