I'd be doin a hirise single plain with a spacer plate and a 1000cfm 4 barrel throttlebody

but your goin to have the filter sticking out the bonnet

Come racing have these new single plain high rise ones with a 1000 throttle style, 1 inch spacer while all fitting under the bonnet, but we are in Victoria and cops are a major problem. As soon as I get this car on the road, I'm sure to get pulled over, so, if this was to be seen under there, I would be in the sht. Even air flow over all runners, very nice, but... Victoria!! The place not to be... for cars!!

Been reading about manifolds galore and every manifold has it's bad point as well as good ones.
My problem is which one has the least problems for the cash outlay??

Comes twin throttle ttb I've herd runs the front runners richer than the rest and the price is a factor but still better price and flow than grp a vl, vn.

The above above style is unfortunately out of the question as I've seen Lou rafter from the EPA way to many times!!

Motec or now known as flowcraft manifold used on the awesome CSV 5800i Veloce is so out of the question... $3,500 for how much cfm?

Extruding runners in the bananas, larger tb, even milled of tb in place of forward facing 90mm, but absolutely brutal on fuel consumption. Starr performance.

    So.....????

I think comes ttb, if I can find 1 cheap is the way to go, 24mpg I think at 110kmph, 13.5liters per 115km at 110kmph, still heaps and city cycle is going to kill... But unless anybody has some info that can steer me, not in the way of a 6/71 either please.

Engine out, stripped and was bathing in some chemicals with the heads etc.
Clutch pressure plate fingers were hammered!! Still a little life left in the organic plate but a throw away item.
Box has been since taken out and delivered to get rebuilt!! Maybe no photos of the box build, I'll have to ask the box guy. Purchased a $40 Sony 10.2mp camera, gave it to the engine dude, so should have some nice photos of the engine in the build very soon!! Stay tuned!! 2 more weeks maybe less!!!

Had to change harmonic balancer to a romac, had a standard powerbond with a steel case, not that good, traded mine for $70.
Now diff gears, don't know if I should start a thread on this, but not sure which set to go for. My engine guy says it's almost mandatory as the 308s I have now will bog down in the low revs, can use a smaller Cam, but it will effect power and we don't want that!!!
    Any ideas???

depends on what your using it for - 3.73/3.9's are a great all rounders but go for 3.9/4.11's are good if you plan running it at the track or strip

Didn't think it would take this long!!
    Waiting process sux!!!
Going now to check out what's happening. A fair bit of work was needed for the heads, taken 1 1/2 weeks just for the heads, if you count the cleaning process probably longer!!
At least the longer it takes, the more I can save..... to spend more!!! Maybe a turbo!?!?!!

Hmmmm, hope your gonna run a big cam cause that come TTB manifold was designed for big stroker engines turning high RPM or blown combo's so it could well be to big for what your intending.

Looks like a decent combo though. Got any cam specs?

    Yeh,
Should be a big one, it's going to be a custom grind though. My engine guy doesn't like off the shelf items.
Will find out probably in 2 days the specs, depends how big or small they go with the heads, but we have a round about number.

With the intake... Well I'm not so sure it will be over kill, should be just right.
Also the price I paid for it with all the mods that came with it.... Good as gold!!! Maybe better!!!
Anyway transferred the box back to the car... Here is some pics!!!

    Ok
Cam has been sorted. Custom grind with I think 236 @ 50' lsa of 108 haven't been told the rest. Still taking too long... Had a listen and test drive of a vn wagon called corrupt. Testing for diff gears and cam spec. He had 4.11s and a slightly smaller cam. I'm going 3.9s with a couple of degrees larger. Should be amazing performance off the line and beyond!!
Dunno about a turbo yet. Need a t56 box arrangement if I go that way, the poor t5 may not cope other wise.
Photos are coming, not to worry!!

Cam and roller lifters have been dummied up to check what springs to use. Heads are now being done. Have been told a full 7000 red line is now available to my right foot, should prove to be fun with 3.9 gears!! Need a reduction gear starter and 600 cold crank battery for those hot starts. Also having to punch out the cats as I will be going through them every 2 months. Shhh. Need to correct myself... The car I was a passenger in was bankrupt not corrupt. Not bad buddy... Mines going to be much better!! Taking a while but what they have done and what I've seen so far is unbelievable. Can't wait!!
