Guys- the engine is on a stand, heads are off, sump if off but I can't get the retaining nut for the harmonic balancer off.
What's the go with it? Seems to be spinning it just rotates the crankshaft and I can't see a good option to hold it in place while I undo the nut. I am assuming it's not a left handed thread or anything like that.
Any ideas?
Use a rattle gun air impact wrench if you have one.
Other then that you can place a couple of flywheel/flexplate bolts in the rear flange of the crank to enable you to lock the crank from turning with a large screwdriver of some steel bar of some sought.
