    Default exhausts

I heard a VT SS 5L idle passed the other day and the note was pretty wild, mainly coz it was so low and ya could just about feel it going passed....but didn't seem actually that loud.

How do I get my exhaust note like that?? My old xforce exhaust sounded nice, but nothing like that! I want a nice deep, thundery sort of rumble....any ideas? lol

My old xforce was twin 2.5"....if I went twin 3" that would make the note lower hey?

Did it have a full exhaust on it? My guess is that it had a half system. Dump it at the diff (angle the dumper towards the ground) and you will get the deep note.

some 40 series flowmaster mufflers dumped at the diff will sound like that. No way it would be close to legal though sound wise.

I was going to do something similar on my VH when it finally gets back on the road

Depends on how much you wanted to spend and what you already have.

4-1 big primary extractors, high flow cats and a twin 3" will make it nice and lumpy, but the low down torque will be pretty ordinary.

Fitting a twin 2 1/2" with front mufflers and rear tailpipes will make it a bit less loud but still pretty good.

    $1990 shipped.

At the moment it has pacemaker extractors, hi flow cats and a twin 2.5" system with a box for each pipe in the middle, and nothing at the back just tailpipe. Not 100% sure wat this one sounds like (was my old VT with the xforce) coz it has restrictor plates in, and sumfin is leaking. The lad I got it off rekons it was just a stuffed gasket from when he put the restrictor plates in (it's got a regency defect aka has to go over the pits), but pretty sure the cat is split open at the back along the weld....is that common with high flow ebay cats? I could of just been seeing it wrong but pretty sure it is.

After I get the defect off I might try a twin 3" system...and if I don't like it, replace the mufflers with the 40 series flowmaster ones.

thats what i was thinking! IMO a standard to mild 5ltr sounds best with extractors and a single 3in system with a decent muffler, twin 3in is overkill for a standard ls1 let alone a 5ltr
