Yes you can use a mini spool in IRS and they wear the tyres out a little bit from turning slowly. Anyway just get a tight shimmed LSD

That's fine if it wears the outside a bit it will even up the inside without having to spend big money on suspension or having to rotate tyres!!

a permanent engauged spool hurts the diff/axel when turning corners somthing gotta give,an electric spoll can b disengauged when needed, but i to would shim the diff have the lsd tight, better all rounder.

a spool is really ruff and put strain on your whole car bushes etc i was looking into this option but i just rebuilt the diff i had really tight and its a whole lot better for street driving and you get the same two big black marks as a spool would

i use a spool in my daily driver yes you do wear out tyres but a tight lsd is the same if tight enough it will scruff the inside tyre just like a minispool... an lsd is alot more expensive than a spool and a spool never wears out whereas an lsd the clutches in the diff will need replacing, but it all depends on what U want.
what do u use it for? do you do burnouts? thats a quick way to wear out an lsd.
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!

You believe what you want. Spools are for cheap skates who cant afford a decent LSD.

Use a KAAZ 1and a half or 2 way LSD (same as a detroit locker for borg warner diffs), these are the best or a detroit locker or full floater for drag cars.

I haven't got time for people who don't know what their on about, I'm telling you what I saw.

why get an lsd when a spool does the job properly...you say it broke in half!? how? if a minispool was to break which it wouldnt then the only way it would happen is the splines would sheer off and i wouldnt even try to guess what kind of material his axels would be made of to do that... maybe some kind of alien titanium?

a mini spool is very dangerouse on the road, they cause the rear wheel to turn at the same speed around corners and at high speed cause the car to understeer severly. the stress put onto your driveline is imense and even if the diff can stand the stresses the axels will nottt as they will twist whenever you go around a corner and car eventually snap
