308 aussie pattern to VN or VP auto gearbox

Does anybody know if you can fit a Auto gearbox from a Early commodore to a 308 with a trimatic bolt pattern.

Just building an engine and would like a few options on what gearbox i can fit with some minor mods if anybody can help.

Aussie pattern is limited to trimatic and aussie 4 speed basically without an adapter plate.
The other pattern, usually refered to as turbo is chev such as the VN-VP V8.
It is a hard conversion to make as the locating dowl pin is different size and different placement albeit slightly different can be a nightmare when not done properly.
Probably best to source the right block to start with IMO.

Agreed, start with a turbo/chev pattern block. Don't waist your time with a troublematic.
