Hey how ya doin i just recently finished puttting c.o.m.e racing 383 stroker in my vn.. ive just finished running it in, and i put my foot into it the other day and it didnt feel right at all. it seems to have a flat spot around the 3,000 mark and up wrds. was wondering if anyone could steer me in the right diretion to fix this problem..
but it stilll has stock heads and manifold due to funds... if this info helps it has 70mm throttle body, stock ecu, pace makers new o2 sensor, 5 spd and its got a 286 crane...
if anyone would be nice enough to help me out it would be much appreciated .

any one at alll... i think it could be injectors is there anything else i should loook out for
mate i just finished building a 5lt not stroked though,and one of the new injectors i was sold was dud(though it still had power, inside it wasn't doing what it was suppose to do)
so in my case it was the injector.
my engine was hunting on idle,also felt and sounded like it was down on a cylinder which it was,hope this helps.
Get a screwdriver sit it on each of the injectors and give the end of the screwdriver a tap with a hammer, sometimes the injector can get stuck closed! Even brand new ones!
Back up a minute, 383 stroker+286 cam and stock computer!!!!! What??? Your problem is it needs a tune, stock tune can't run that set up
Ps guessing stock computer means u don't even have mail order chip!

I built one of my motors and drove it to be tuned. was a pig to drive, wouldnt do it day to day.... thats insanity!
A 286 in a stock 5L requires a tune. U wouldn't put a six manga chip in your 5L and using a 5L chip with a 383 is pretty much the same logic.
Either way your problem lies in the tune, or lack of

ok thanks guyys i dont drive the car everyday i dont give it any crap.. i willl definitely get a tune on the asap. i have rung up a few dyno places and the cheapest i could find is 600 bucks . for 3/4 day . is this a reasonable price.. ?? also thanks for the help people.
600 is a fair price, just make sure it's a reputable company..
And seriously if it's not tuned don't drive it!

Yup trailer to the dyno!! Surprised engine builder did not say it needs a tune! What injectors u running, manifold?
Think my tune is about 1200 , they should have it over a day to check cold start etc etc
It's also very hard to find good delco tuners these days

He did my vx twin throttle body, just tuned my mates caprice 355 and will soon tune my vc 308, just proof my money is where my mouth is..

on injectors........people still talk about ev1 style injectors for aussie V8's (775 blues and similar) when ev6 style will pull the same power with less pulse width (using less fuel). If you are buying injectors and buying a dyno tune anyway why not get the 4 hole injectors?

It's not breathing u have a 383 stroked bottom end with stock top end u need to sort that out, u probably don't have the comp there with those heads plus induction needs improvement
