valve springs

Hi just wondering how much lift standard valve springs are good for just wondering as I want to put a cam in also are edelbrock 5802 valve springs suitable for a 304 as I have some available that I could possibly use

Stock duals are good for 500. But to be honest the seat pressure gets weak as piss after a couple hundred thou kms. For the sake of 150 bucks, it cant hurt to swap them. Especially if you are looking around the 490 mark. But thats just my opinion. Nothing wrong with stockies on a mild cam

I don't know what heads you have been looking at but 304 efi heads never came out with a double spring. You might be getting confused with the dampner which is not a spring
